At Walk in the Woods, we believe in the importance of outdoor learning creating opportunities for curiosities to grow and engage with the natural world.
Welcome to Walk in the Woods Nature Education
My name is Megan Donaldson/Ms.Megan/Mrs.Donaldson.
Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed connecting my senses to the vast outdoors. I looked at the plants and I wanted to taste them. I felt the moss and the dirt in-between my toes as I ran off the pathway of the forest walks my family would take me on. I would feel the pain of the sharp edged rocks as I imagined my own path across the shallow pond. Some of my best adventures were me and the critters I would find in my own backyard, racing slugs and snails down the slide wondering to myself who would be faster. I became linked to an environment that provided for me and fed my thirst for knowledge. An understanding that never wants to stop and never will, my natural curiosities guide me and shape me, keeping me on my toes determined to receive more from this Earth.
This is what I hope to share with your child, cultivating a world that they feel confident to never stop exploring.
I have over 10 years of experience working with children. My journey as an educator started as volunteer work, followed by working in a preschool/daycare and then becoming an elementary school teacher. I am incredibly excited to have started the next part of my journey; opening up a Nature Education program where my two significant passions can come together: nature and teaching.
